How To Build A Sales Page From Scratch With Thrive Architect In 2020

Today, we're going to build a sales page from scratch.

Here is a link to the "demo" version of the sales page we're going to build:

https://zermelomusic.com/stf-pawsa-demo/

Depending on when you're reading this, the original page was probably changed (based on tests) or deleted.

In total, building the sales page took about 10 hours. I don't build the whole page in one go. I took some breaks here and there, so there's several videos.

If you want to watch the videos on YouTube, here is a link to the playlist:

In the blog post, I've added a little extra commentary below each video.

Video 4. Student Results & Course Description

In video 4, we work on the student results (social proof) and course description (what you get) sections of the sales page - building them from scratch with Thrive Architect.

Video 5. Fine-Tuning The Sales Page Design

In video 5, we fine tune the design of the sales page with Thrive Architect to create the right buying environment and entice the visitor to make a purchase.

Video 6. Course Description & Bonuses

In video 6, we build the product description and bonus sections from scratch using Thrive Architect.

The product description is the "meat" of the page — it's what the customers are ultimately paying for. It took a couple of tries to get the design right, but I'm happy with the basic "flow" of the page.

You have to keep the visitor in mind. What do they expect to see and in what order? Is it clear? Is it logical? I like to move from general to specific. So I start with the product image and then move to the higher-level modules of the course. From there, the visitor can learn more about what's in each module. It's about giving progressively more detailed info about the product — and not overwhelming them from the start.

Also, each piece of information should be interesting and enticing, and should also lead the visitor to the next piece of information.

Finally, we start with the bonuses of the course. In the next video, we really focus heavily on design and make sure the bonuses and testimonial "boxes" look clean.

Video 7. Making A GIF, Course Description & Bonuses

In video 7, we make a GIF for the sales page. We also continue refining the design of the Course Description and Bonuses with Thrive Architect.

I love GIFs. So any excuse I have to make them, I do it. And I can spend hours making them. They're just so much fun.

It's a great way to communicate information. But it's also a way for you to convey a little personality and brand.

The GIF we make in this video is really functional. We're making a GIF that shows the inside of the member area. Why? So that someone can see (before they buy) what's inside.

Before someone buys, they don't know what's on the other side. And that's really what stops someone from buying. It's a mystery. And it's your job to sufficiently describe what they get and how it will help.

The GIF we create helps remove a little of the mystery. The GIF shows the membership area, so the visitor can imagine themselves in it post-purchase.

Here's the GIF we make:

Simple, right?

We also touch up some of the details in the course description and bonus sections of the sales page.

Video 8. Testimonial & Bonus Boxes

In this video, we design the boxes for the testimonials and course bonus modules.

The great thing about Thrive Architect is that you can save your work to use on future pages that you build. And I definitely saved these boxes (and the entire bonus section) -- because I really liked how these boxes turned out.

Getting the design right took a while, but it was worth the time, for sure.

Video 9. Course Content Toggle Element

In this video, we modify the toggle element for the course content using Thrive Architect.

The great thing about Thrive Architect is that you can save your work to use on future pages that you build. And I definitely saved these boxes (and the entire bonus section) -- because I really liked how these boxes turned out.

Getting the design right took a while, but it was worth the time, for sure.

Video 10. Pricing Table

In this video, we build a pricing table for our product using Thrive Architect.

Video 11. Guarantee, FAQ, More Testimonials

In this video, we build the guarantee box, the toggle FAQ section, and add in some more testimonials below the pricing table — all with Thrive Architect.

Video 12. Finishing touches

In this video, we make the final touches to the sales page with Thrive Architect.

Video 13. Mobile Optimization

In this video, make sure that the sales page looks good on mobile with Thrive Architect.
